Cannula

A small tube which is inserted into a vein in your arm or the back of your hand, which can be connected up to two drips.

It’s like a little sting having a cannula fitted, but it only lasts for about 3 seconds, after which the cannula is taped in place, and can be left there for up to 3 days.

The first part is a needle as shown in the top picture, which is inserted, and then pulled out to leave just a flexible tube as shown in the bottom picture.

If you are really scared by needles, or can’t stand pain, then a little anaesthetic cream can be put on the skin before hand to numb the area, but honestly, you won’t need it.
