Sleep Patterns

Chemo can seriously affect your sleep patterns. The secret is to give in to it, you won’t win.

In the middle of the night, when you’ve just woken up, and can’t get back to sleep again within about 15 minutes; get out of bed, sit down and read a book, make a cup of tea, tidy up, paint the house, play a computer game, etc.

Do what I frequently did; make the dog think you’re nut’s by taking him out for his daily 3am walk.

Other times, especially in the afternoon, you will want to collapse and just sleep, so what do we do? Collapse into bed and sleep.

Your body will dictate it’s own weird times, and it’s no use fighting it.

While I was in hospital receiving my Stem Cell Therapy the doctor prescribed sleeping tablets, but I wouldn’t recommend them as I found coming off them very difficult.
