Ultrasound Examination An
ultrasound examination is a procedure in which high-energy sound waves
(ultrasound) are bounced off internal tissues or organs and make echoes. The
echoes form a picture of body tissues called a sonogram. Any
parents will probably recognise the machine as the one which prints the
picture of the unborn child. The
procedure is completely painless; but be warned, the coating of clear gel
that they put on your stomach is usually very cold. Pain
